PRODUCT QUALITY IN THE CABLE & PACKAGING
At DES we measure quality through the eyes of our two primary customers – the technician who installs our cable and the consumer whose system is reliant on it. We understand that any defect which causes issues for either of these customers is just not acceptable. For this reason, we engineer quality into every aspect of our value chain from raw materials selection to end user installation.
All of our cable products carry an ETL listing, are RoHS compliant, and are constantly tested against ASTM and SCTE standards. A staff of internal quality control specialists ensures that nothing leaves the factory until it meets the stringent requirements needed to carry the DES brand name. This expectation of quality applies to both the cable and its packaging. Our customers can’t afford ‘good enough’, so we only deliver ‘great’.
WHITE GLOVE SERVICE
All DES customers (whether distributors or direct end users) receive our ‘white glove’ service experience as part of our overall value proposition. This means that your dedicated account manager will handle all the details between order placement and product delivery. You shouldn’t have to spend time dealing with maritime laws, Customs duties, and complicated supply chain logistics. We got that covered. Just tell us the ‘what, when, and where’ and let our team of professionals handle the rest. This superior customer experience is something you can count on as a DES customer.
REEL-IN-A-BOX PACKAGING
Who knew a box was so important? We did. Our convertible box was engineered like the cable inside it—with the technician in mind. Our “Reel-In-A-Box” packaging has a number of simple but important features that most companies don’t have because it adds cost, and they don’t understand the importance of having truly tech-friendly packaging.
Nothing is worse than having a 30-lb box of cable fall apart on the first workorder of the day and having to wrestle the snags, tangles and feeding issues until the box is gone. In fact, we routinely find competitors’ boxes being thrown away with hundreds of feet of cable still left. The technician got fed up—we understand.
Drop Testing
We drop test every box and cable type we have. We performed a sequence of drops that simulated the heights of the average tailgate, halfway up an 8 foot ladder, and at the top of an 8 foot ladder. These simulated the heights in which technicians are regularly using our cable, so our boxes must be tough enough to perform on the job—every day.
It may surprise you that we are one of the only manufacturers that actually performs drop testing.
PACKAGING OPTIONS
In order to accommodate the varying demands of our customers, DES offers a variety of packaging options to meet your needs. These options include our industry leading ‘Reel-In-A-Box’ design, a ruggedized Pull Box, as well as a standard wooden reel configuration.
DES cable is produced in two standard lengths based on the product type. All dual core products are packaged in 500’ lengths while single core products are packaged in 1000’ lengths.

REEL-IN-A-BOX
Exhaustive technician field testing and months of engineering produced our convertible box that is truly in a league of its own. Designed by the end-user for the end-user, this packaging has a number of features that maximize productivity and minimize waste. These features include two corrugated exterior layers to resist moisture damage, four high strength straps that eliminate reel slippage, reinforced handles for safer handling, an octagonal reel for added strength, and rolled spool edges for a snag-free cable pull.

PULL BOX
Our slightly larger pull box gives you some of the same features as our Reel-In-A-Box design without the additional weight of an interior spool. This recyclable box is sturdy, lightweight, and gives you the same snag-free experience to minimize cable waste and installer frustration.

WOODEN REEL
If your setup requires the traditional wooden reel configuration, we can do that as well. All of our cable products can be manufactured on a high quality wooden reel that fits most current cable distribution systems.
